Evaluating Design Trade-offs and their effect on cost, schedule and O&S – A Case Study

Background of the situation This project came about because NASA needed an independent cost, schedule and risk assessment of a proposed system. This proposed system was an update to an existing system, which was primarily a hardware system with a small amount of software. The proposed configuration used some of the existing hardware, but some of the hardware would be modified while other hardware components would be new.
